Roasted Makhana Salt & Pepper, Roasted Foxnut Recipe
The easiest Roasted Makhana recipe that you'll ever see. Requires very less ingredients and the preparation time is less too. One FYI: In english, Makhana is called Foxnut or Lotus seeds.
Well, I was unaware about this delicious and healthy snack called Roasted Makhanas until a friend from the North got these for me when he had gone for a vacation back home.
I asked him the recipe for this and quickly tried this at home. In the roasted Makhana recipe given below, I have used salt and pepper as the key ingredients. If you don't like the flavor of pepper, you can substitute it with red chilli powder.
Makhanas (Lotus seeds) have a lot of health benefits. They have a low calorie content and are known to be good for weight loss.
- Serves: 2 people
- Preparation Time: 2 minutes
- Cooking Time: 3 minutes
- 1 Bowl - Makhana (Lotus Seeds)
- 1 tbsp - Salt
- 1 tbsp - Black Pepper Powder
- 1 tbsp - Ginger Powder
- 4 tbsp - Oil (Ground nut oil or Mustard Oil)
1: In a large Kadhai or cooking pot, heat 4-5 tbsp of oil.
2: Once the oil is hot enough, add the Makhanas in it and stir for around 30 seconds.
3: Next, add salt, pepper and ginger powder onto the Makhanas and mix well.
4: Keep the stove heat to a medium flame and keep stirring the Makhanas for 2-3 minutes.
5: After 3 minutes, turn off the stove. Your roasted Makhanas are ready to be served.
