- Cooking Time: 8 minutes
- 400 grams - Large Prawns (Deveined and cleaned)
- 2 tbsp - Salt
- 2 tbsp - Black Pepper Powder
- 2 tbsp - Red Chilli Powder
- 4 tbsp - Lemon Juice
- 1/2 Cup - Rice Flour
- 1 Cup - Rawa (Semolina)
- 5 tbsp - Oil
1: Wash the Prawns in running water and devein and clean them properly.
2: Move the prawns to a mixing bowl. Sprinkle some lemon juice, salt and pepper over the prawns. Mix well and keep this aside for around 20 minutes.
3: Next, apply the rice flour and mix well. The rice flour ensures that the salt and pepper get bonded properly with Prawns.
4: Now for coating the prawns and to get that golden yellow texture we need to create a coating mixture. Mix Rava (Semolina), 1 tbsp salt and 1 tbsp chilli powder in a flat plate.
5: In a frying pan / heat around 5-6 tbsp Oil. Coat the prawns with the coating mixture that we had created earlier and then place them in the pan for frying. Fry each side on a medium flame for around 3 minutes. If the oil runs dry, you can add another tbsp of it.
6: After 7-8 minutes, your Shallow fried prawns should be ready to be served. Do not forget to keep a slice of lemon in the serving plate. The tangy flavor acts like icing over a cake for this recipe.
