Pomfret Fry Recipe
Maharashtrian style recipe of Pomfret Fry. This is a shallow fry dish that takes very less time to prepare.
Pomfret Fry Recipe can be made in multiple ways and here I will be showing you how to make Maharashtrian style Pomfret Fry. Pomfrets are one of the best type of fish that you can get in India and are loved by all fish lovers.

- 2 medium size - Pomfrets
- 1/2 cup - rice flour
- 1/2 cup - rawa
- 2 tbsp - coriander powder
- 2 tbsp - red chilli powder
- 1 tbsp - black pepper
- 5 tbsp - oil
- 1 tbsp - lemon juice
- 1 tbsp - salt
1: First, wash the Pomfret properly and make some slits on it.
2: Now squeeze half lemon on the fish and apply some tumeric powder on it. Keep this in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes so that the lemon soaks in properly. This is an essential step as it reduces the fishy smell of the fish.
3: Now lets start preparing the marinate and rice flour and rawa mixture. In a small plate mix Rawa and Rice flour in equal proportion and keep this mixture aside. It will be used for coating the fish, just before we shallow fry them.
4: Mix red chilly powder, black pepper, coriander powder and salt in a bowl and add some water to make a thick paste.
5: Apply the paste on the Pomfrets. Make sure that the paste goes deep inside the slits and is applied evenly.
6: Now, in a Kadhai heat some oil. Coat the marinated fish with Rawa and Rice Flour mixture and shallow fry each side for 5 minutes.
7: That is it, Enjoy your fried Pomfret.
